Justin Timberlake's first album for seven years has gone straight to the top of the UK chart

Justin Timberlake's first album for seven years has gone straight to the top of the UK chart, knocking David Bowie's comeback LP off the summit.
The 20/20 Experience is Timberlake's third solo album. It has deposed The Next Day, Bowie's first album for a decade, which spent one week on top.
But Timberlake's song Mirrors has lost the top spot in the singles chart.
It has been replaced by The Saturdays' What About Us, the girl group's first number one after five years of trying.
They had previously scored 11 UK top 10 singles without hutting the top spot. But the new single, which features reggae star Sean Paul, has become the fastest-selling single of the year so far with 114,000 copies sold.

Joke of the Day: whispering voice

The boss of a big company needed to call one of his employees about an urgent problem with one of the main computers. He dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whispered, "Hello?"
Feeling put out at the inconvenience of having to talk to a youngster the boss asked, "Is your Daddy home?"
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?" the man asked.
To the surprise of the boss, the small voice whispered, "No."
Wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"
"Yes", came the answer.
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No".
Knowing that it was not likely that a young child would be left home alone, the boss decided he would just leave a message with the person who should be there watching over the child.
"Is there anyone there besides you?" the boss asked the child.
"Yes" whispered the child, "A policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy," whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?" asked the boss.
Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the ear piece on the phone the boss asked, "What is that noise?"
"A hello-copper," answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" asked the boss, now alarmed.
In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper."
Alarmed, concerned and more than just a little frustrated, the boss asked, "Why are they there?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle, "They're looking for me."

Sen. David Mark denies buying Ferrari car worth N47 for 2face & Annie

According to statement released by senate president senior adviser on media, Kola Ologboandiyan, Senator Mark has denied buying Chevy Corvette for 2face & Annie as a wedding gift.

Although, the card on the car say clearly 'wedding gift from Senator David Mark'.

Ologbondiya said: 'Senator Mark did not visit Dubai for Tiface wedding rather he attended the 128th Inter parliamentary Union (IPU) conference currently holding in Quito, Ecuador. He was also not represented at Mr. Idibia's wedding. It is also instructive to state that the President of the Senate, Senator Mark, did not make a car donation of any kind to Tuface before departing Nigeria for Ecuador neither did he purchase nor send any car to Dubai as a wedding gift for the musician or his wife. Who made the donation on behalf of the President of the Senate?
It is therefore a puerile lie for anybody to state that Senator Mark bought a Ferrari car worth N47m for Tuface, The allegation is wicked, ridiculous and irresponsible.

Signed: Kola Ologbondiyan
Special Adviser, Media & Publicity to the President of the Senate David Mark

The Chevy Corvette is worth about N7m and if the Senate president says he didn't buy it, then we should give him the benefit of doubt. I doubt a man of his caliber will buy a wedding gift and then publicly deny buying it. I'm sure 2face Idibia's team will address this when they get back from Dubai.

Achebe cannot be buried outside his community: Governor

The home state of Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe, the "father of modern African literature" who died this week in the United States, wants him to be buried in his native community, an official said on Saturday.

The family of Achebe, who had an uneasy relationship with his home country, has not announced their burial plans following the 82-year-old's death on Thursday.

"He is a renowned promoter of the African culture. He cannot but be buried in his native home community," said Mike Udah, spokesperson for the governor of Anambra, Achebe's southeastern home state.

"The idea of him being buried outside his community is totally ruled out."

The state governor, Peter Obi, is due to travel to the United States this weekend to discuss Achebe's burial plans with his family, he added.

Best known internationally for his novel Things Fall Apart, which depicts the clash between British rule and traditional Igbo culture in his native southeastern Nigeria, Achebe was also a staunch critic of corruption in the country.

Joke of the Day: Thieves At A Party

Two thieves each sneak into a rich man's party. During dinner the thieves marveled at how even the cutlery was made of gold, and both decided they would try to steal some. The first thief quietly slipped a golden spoon into his pocket, unaware that the second thief had witnessed this crime.

After dinner, the second thief comes up with a way to steal a golden spoon without suspicion being placed on him. He picks up a golden spoon identical to the first and holds it up in front of the party-goers explaining he wishes to show them a magic trick. "And now..." he speaks to the crowd and points towards the first thief, "I will put this spoon into my pocket, and remove it from this gentleman here's own pocket!"

My people, Enjoy it Friday. Drink Responsibly !!!

Bobby Brown spends 9 hours in jail

Singer Bobby Brown has been released from prison after spending just nine hours behind bars.

The singer - the ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston - barely had time to settle into his cell following his incarceration on Wednesday morning for his third driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.

Bobby checked into LA County Jail at 09:58 on Wednesday before being released at 6:58 pm because the jail was "overcrowded", reports TMZ.

The star was sentenced to 55 days in prison last month after being arrested and charged for his third DUI in October. He was caught driving erratically around Los Angeles on a suspended licence, and had been arrested seven months beforehand for a similar crime.

Bobby missed his original court date in February, and was ordered to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings per week until his hearing on Wednesday.

The County Sheriff's spokesperson recently said he was likely to only serve nine days of his sentence - not nine hours.

Bobby - who has daughter Bobbi Kristina with Whitney, and four children from other relationships - is currently on four years probation and has to attend 18 months of alcohol education classes.

He and Whitney divorced in 2007 after 15 years of "stormy" and drug-filled marriage.

Nigeria capsize survivors found

According to BBC, Twenty-nine people have been rescued after a boat carrying about 130 people from Nigeria to Gabon sank, rescue officials say.

The vessel was initially said to have been carrying 160 people but officials say the real number was slightly lower.

There are unconfirmed reports that some of those on board were illegal migrants looking for work in oil-rich Gabon.

Such trips on wooden boats last for days, with little concern for safety, and accidents are said to be common.

The first two survivors were found clinging to a gas cylinder. One of them, Kieve Sani, 27, from Togo told the AFP news agency that four people had originally been holding on to the cylinder but two, including the captain, had been unable to retain their grip.

"As time went by [the captain] could not continue and told us he was going," Mr Sani said from hospital in Calabar.

The head of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, Vincent Aquah, said a further 27 survivors were in the remote town of Oron in Akwa Ibom state, where the boat had picked up more passengers after setting off from Benin on Friday.

It capsized about 40 nautical miles (74km) offshore, officials say.

Mr Aquah said only nine bodies had been recovered so far but a local doctor told Reuters news agency he had received 45 bodie
